For the replacement of the child cylinder to go smoothly refer to the Implementation Procedures in the article below.
- Repair tools: mouth wrench, screwdriver, tube rod, bud, ...
- Gloves, masks, protective clothing.
- Protective eyewear.
- Oil wins.
- New baby cylinder.
The Procedure Of Replacing Sub Cylinders In Braking System:
+ Step 1: First, raise the wheel you want to replace the baby cylinder to. Use the dead team to put under the car to ensure safety during the process. Then use a gun to hold the bolt and remove the wheel.
+ Step 2: The wheel cylinder is located at the top of the stop plate so that the brake clogs need to be removed from the brake plate for easy handling.
+ Step 3: Use mouth wrench to remove oil pipes, avoid using improper spanner which damages nut.
+ Step 4: After removing the oil pipe, brake fluid will flow out until the tank is empty. Therefore, it is advisable to prepare a plastic cap, glossy paper or rubber wire to seal these ends pipes, to avoid wastage when the brake fluid is spilled.
+ Step 5: Remove the sub-cylinder on the brake stop plate by using the tube lever and the bud lever to remove the bolts that fix the sub-cylinder. At the same time, pull the cylinder out of the original position for easy replacement.
+ Step 6: Check and compare status of old sub-cylinder with new one and then install new cylinder in right position. You should use your hand to screw the bolts in advance a few threads to match before using the tube lever to tighten the threads.
+ Step 7: Remove the plastic cap, glossy paper or rubber strap on the oil line, insert the oil pipe into the holes on the cylinder, and then tighten the nuts on the oil pipe with a mouth wrench.
*Note: When installing the oil pipe in the new cylinder, it should be placed in a straight line with the hole in the cylinder. Use hand to screw the nut first, after matching a few threads, use a tool to tighten. Avoid the case, the nut does not match the thread, but using the mouth wrench can damage the nut and the thread joint.
In case when installing the oil pipe in the cylinder is hard and difficult, you should not try to force it hard, it will burn the thread on the cylinder. At this time, you should check that your position is straight and matched with the cylinder hole or not, then adjust it properly.
+ Step 8: Install the removed parts back to the original position. When the wheel and bolts are in their original state, open the brake fluid reservoir cover on the main cylinder.
+ Step 9: Check and add brake fluid to the tank if it is exhausted. When the oil level is sufficient, close the lid of the tank.
+ Step 10: Ask someone else's assistance to depress the brake pedal and hold for quality check after replacement. Note that you should step on and hold the brake once, not continuously.
+ Step 11: In parallel with depressing the brake pedal, use a wrench to open the exhaust valve. When the brake fluid stops flowing, release the brake pedal and close the air vent valve when the oil stops flowing. Repeat this operation until the air bubbles in the brake fluid are gone.
+ Step 12: After completing the above steps, try pulling the handbrake, making the necessary adjustments between the brake shoe and the brake drum. In order to ensure the vehicle's braking system is stable and best working.
- During the implementation process, it is recommended to use appropriate tools to disassemble and install parts to avoid damage.
- Use RP7 solution on components before removing to prevent rust, lubrication, and limit oxidation of the environment to the metal surface.
- After replacing the child cylinder, clean the brake drum and all the components with the brake system cleaner.
- Use equipment such as masks, gloves, eyewear, and clothing to help remove contaminants that are harmful to your health.
