The Automatic Transmission Practice course includes 5 main chapters, focusing on equipping students with basic theoretical knowledge and in-depth practical skills in disassembling, inspecting, diagnosing and handling damage to automatic transmissions:

1. Chapter 1: Disassembly and Assembly of Torque Converter (12 hours): Study the structure, function, inspection methods and propose repair options for torque converters and torque converter lockup clutches.
2. Chapter 2: Disassembly and Assembly of Planetary Gear Set (12 hours): Learn about the structure, function, operating principle, formula for calculating transmission ratio and power transmission flow in planetary gear sets, structure of clutch, brake, one-way joint.
3. Chapter 3: Disassembly and Assembly of Hydraulic Control System in Automatic Transmission (12 hours): Study the function of hydraulic system and automatic transmission oil, structure and operating principle of oil pump and control valves, learn some typical oil circuits.
4. Chapter 4: Electronic Control System Testing (12 hours): Learn the functions of the electronic control system in automatic transmissions, the structure and operating principles of solenoid valves, sensors, switches, and the operation of gear shifting control and torque converter lockup.
5. Chapter 5: Diagnosis and Troubleshooting of Automatic Transmissions (12 hours): Identify common types of failures, their effects on vehicle performance, and measures to repair the failures.

• Regular Test (Coefficient 1 – 40% of total score): Evaluate theoretical knowledge through multiple choice exercises within a maximum of 30 minutes. Students must complete all exercises and meet the requirements for the number of correct answers.
• Periodic test (Coefficient 2): Assess theoretical knowledge or practical skills within 45 to 60 minutes.
• Final Exam (Coefficient 60% of total score): Assessment of practical skills directly on automatic transmission within 90 minutes. Students need to:

• Present and perform disassembly, inspection and repair of defects in gearbox parts and components.
