Engine inspection and maintenance items on cars are very diverse. This article will introduce some of the most important maintenance items for a car engine.
Changing engine oil (oil) is the most basic item in the maintenance process, but its role is extremely important. Engine oil is changed at each maintenance level from level 1 to level 4, in addition, some models also specify time and number of Km separately or depending on the operating conditions of the vehicle. The engine oil is changed at regular intervals to ensure that the engine always operates in a fully lubricated condition. Avoid wear and tear, increase friction, reduce power and increase fuel consumption.

The engine oil filter has the function of filtering out dirt and metal particles during engine operation, ensuring that the lubricating oil is always clean before going to the friction surfaces. If the oil filter is not replaced on a regular basis, the filter will become clogged, the lubricating oil cannot reach the friction surfaces, causing damage to the bearings and engine components.

Along with lubricating oil, coolant plays an important role in ensuring engine performance. The coolant has the function of cooling the engine, keeping the engine temperature within the optimal range of power and fuel. The lack of cooling water has the risk of leading to serious damage such as piston-cylinder jams, silver peeling, etc., leading to engine overhauls and huge costs. Coolant is divided into many types (OAT, IAT, HOAT), using the right type of coolant for the engine is very important. Normally, the engine coolant is changed according to the manufacturer's technical requirements (2-3 years of use or 40.000 - 60.000 Km).

Periodic cleaning and replacement of the air filter - fuel filter ensures the quality of the intake air and fuel for the engine. They have the function of filtering dust and dirt in the fuel and air, providing the engine with the best air-conditioning quality. The air filter is usually cleaned at service levels 1, 2, 3 and replaced every 40.000 km while the fuel filter is usually replaced at service level 4.

On the engine, details such as the water pump, generator, compressor ... are driven by the crankshaft through the drive belts. The belts need to be checked regularly, if one of the belts breaks, it will directly affect the operation of the systems and the engine, especially the camshaft drive belt. The belt should be checked and aligned at each service and replaced when the belt is too loose or shows signs of damage.

Spark plugs are part of the gasoline engine's ignition system. It has the function of creating a spark at the right time to ignite the air, creating power for the engine. Check or replace spark plugs periodically to ensure that the engine always works stably, to avoid loss of fire, weak sparks leading to loss of power, fuel loss and high emissions. Spark plugs are checked, cleaned periodically at maintenance level 3, 4 and replaced based on the life of each type of spark plug (normal, platinum, iridium).
